On Simplicity

On Simplicity

Simplicity wins. Not because complexity doesn't work, but because complexity doesn't survive a bad day, and bad days are guaranteed. A routine that only works when you have the perfect amount of time, energy, and motivation isn't a routine — it's a best-case scenario. The people who actually stay consistent aren't the ones with the most elaborate plan, they're the ones with the simplest one, because simple is what survives contact with real life.

That's why I don't care if you only get through half the workout, or walk instead of run, or do five minutes instead of forty-five. Do something, because the streak isn't about the volume of the work, it's about never giving your brain a reason to believe skipping is an option. And here's the part most people never learn: almost every task has an "initiation threshold" — the first five minutes where everything in you is looking for an excuse to stop. Push through those five minutes and it gets dramatically easier, almost every time. The hardest rep of the day is usually the one before you've even started.

Stay strong and train for life!
